The laboratory of the Saba Cares Foundation is located at the A.M. Edwards Medical Center. The entrance is on ground level at Cobble Stone Road, across from E&H Home Center.

Our laboratory can do a wide variety of clinical tests with a Beckman Coulter, Mini Vidas, and Piccolo machine. Most tests are handled on a walk-in basis but please keep in mind that you need a referral from your physician.

Samples that require testing in the laboratory on St. Maarten will be sent out twice a week; Tuesday and Thursday.
Samples taken before 9 am on Tuesday/Thursday days will be sent that same day. Later samples will be sent out with the next shipment.

Blood tests preparations
You can eat and drink as normal before some blood tests. In other cases, you will be instructed not to eat or drink (other than water) before your test. This is known as a fasting blood test. You may also be told not to drink alcohol or not to smoke before your test. Some patients are unable to visit the laboratory due to their illness or disability. In these cases, we provide home blood tests to our patients after consulting with the physician.
