Vacancy: Managing Board Member -Medical/Care

The Organization

Saba Cares Foundation is the central healthcare provider on Saba, Caribbean Netherlands, delivering clinical care, emergency services, nursing home care, home care and LIFE-activities. The foundation is led by a two-member Managing Board reporting to the Supervisory Board; one member focuses on Business Operations and the other on medical and care matters. Together they set strategy and ensure effective execution in collaboration with coordinators, managers and professionals. We are now recruiting the Board Member with the Medical/Care profile.

The Position

As a Managing Board Member with a focus on medical and care services, you provide clear strategic leadership for clinical governance, quality of care and patient safety across all services. You set the direction for quality systems and ensure they are embedded in day-to-day practice. You are a visible leader who fosters a culture of learning and professional growth, strengthens partnerships with local and regional stakeholders, and positions Saba Cares as a forward-looking healthcare organization.

Your Profile

We are seeking a medically trained professional with a completed degree at Master’s or Doctorate level, from a recognized universityand at least five years’ experience in a comparable senior leadership/board role in healthcare. Proficiency in Dutch in addition to English is an advantage. You communicate complex medical issues clearly and practically. Your leadership is decisive and inspiring: you align professionals with strategic objectives, enable ownership, and safeguard high standards of care. Experience in small or complex healthcare settings—preferably within the Caribbean—will be considered a strong asset.
