Vacancy: Supervisory Board Member

What does the position entail?

The Supervisory Board of Saba Cares functions as a sounding board to the Board of Directors and is responsible for supervising and advising the Board of Directors where appropriate.

We are looking for a new member of the Supervisory Board with a Human Resources background.

Your profile

The background of the new member will add to the opinion and decision-making capabilities of the Supervisory Board, and as such, the new member must:

• have a college or academic degree and/or a level of corresponding working experience in General Management, and in particular Human Resources Management and can think analytically

• function as a team player within a team of people with different professional backgrounds

• have knowledge of the health care field or be willing to gain that knowledge

• be willing and able to continue to follow developments in the field of health care in general and the functions of Saba Cares in particular to supervise (future) management in this area

• have excellent command of English and preferably also of Dutch

• have at least a basic knowledge in the field of finance, property management, legal or business processes

• preferably have experience as a member of a Supervisory Board. If not, has to be willing to get proper training

• have a view on developments in the field of good governance (corporate governance)

• have insight into the demands which quality, efficiency and continuity pose on Saba Cares

• be available for meetings of the Supervisory Board and of its committees, approximately ten times per year.

Additional beneficial qualities would include insight into the risks associated with a complex professional organization. Knowledge of the cultural and political context of Saba and the Caribbean Netherlands would also be valuable.

What we offer

The appointment is for 4 years, after which reappointment for a second term is possible. A monthly stipend is awarded for the position.
